How you study photography at pic?

highkeyface

It's never too late to start. We start from the ground up, with revision of essential skills to strengthen competencies in camera operations, film processing and darkroom printing procedures. This is achieved through an intensive study of practical and theoretical techniques in Black & White photography, that progresses onto the exciting areas of colour and digital imaging.

Our premise is that an understanding and appreciation of photography necessitates a broader study of the Arts. Students are involved in learning experiences, which integrate Film, Music, Theatre, Poetry and Television with the Visual Arts. This overview of the Arts will enrich your source of reference and inspiration. At PIC you can succeed at many levels. The overriding goal is to produce a portfolio of photographic works that demonstrates a high level of technical competence and conceptual maturity. You may be content to merely satisfy your creative spirit or you may use your folio to obtain entry into the photographic industry.

Our 2 year Diploma Of Arts – Applied Photography course has a credit transfer arrangement with RMIT University. The Photographic Imaging College graduates have an excellent record in obtaining placements at tertiary institutions, especially at RMIT University and the Victorian College Of The Arts.
